Senior Wellness Program

We want our senior patients to live as long and as happily as possible. In our opinion, prevention is the best way to achieve this.

The table below explains our comprehensive preventative healthcare program for your senior cat.

Bi-annual Visit:
Reason
  • complete comprehensive questionnaire
  • Helps to jog your memory as to possible behavior changes or health concerns.
  • complete physical exam
  • To screen for any possible health concerns, including lumps and bumps!
  • blood and urine tests (annually)
  • To screen for common conditions such as kidney disease, diabetes or hyperthyroidism, among others. The sooner we detect specific conditions the more effectively we can treat them.
  • blood pressure check
  • To screen for hypertension (high blood pressure). If left undetected, hypertension can cause damage to the kidneys as well as cause blood vessels in the eyes to rupture which can lead to sudden onset of blindness.
  • discuss annual vaccines
  • Recommended vaccines will vary depending on your cat’s lifestyle.
  • general consultation
  • To discuss any problems or concerns that may be an issue.
