Maintaining good dental health in our patients
has several important benefits:
bad breath is reduced
we can reduce potential pain and discomfort caused by
red, inflamed gums, periodontal disease and cavities in
the teeth
and it reduces damage to internal organs that can happen
when bacteria from chronically infected gums enter the bloodstream
during chewing.
To achieve good dental health we recommend
the following:
At six months of age (when they get their adult teeth)
start them on the dental food Hills T/D™ (Tartar Diet).
This will help prevent the buildup of plaque and tartar
on the teeth and can be fed as a primary diet or mixed in
with another food of your choice
Brushing your cat's teeth (this is ideal). We are happy
to give a demonstration on your kitty if you think you would
like to try.
